How to Set up Linksys Velop Node?

Linksys Velop nodes flaunt beautiful designs and come in various sizes. Thus, you can fit them into your home as per your WiFi needs without any hassle. In this guide, we’ll shed light on steps explaining how to set up Linksys Velop parent node in a matter of minutes. Let’s get started.
Guide to Set up Linksys Velop Node
Before you start off with the process, learn that there are two types of nodes. They are:
- Parent Node (It is the first or primary node of the Linksys Velop Mesh WiFi system)
- Child Nodes (These are the additional nodes – need to be configured if you need to cover more area of your home with WiFi signals)
Moving on, let’s now make you acquainted with the process of Linksys Velop node setup.
- Download the Linksys app on your smartphone.
Note: Linksys app is available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. So, you can get it from the store that is compatible with the OS of your smartphone. - Once done, launch the app and tap Launch Setup.
To be noted: Here we are explaining steps for the Android users. For iOS users, the names of the buttons could be different. - You will then be asked to turn on your Bluetooth connection. For the successful execution of Linksys extender setup, tap Turn on Bluetooth.
- Location access will be demanded from you. Proceed further by tapping Allow.
- The completion of this step will take you to the Terms and Conditions page. Here, you need to get agreed to the conditions for moving ahead with the Linksys Velop node setup process.
- Your node will then be identified. So, wait a while and let the light on your node blink purple.
- Can you see purple light on your node? Great! Now, tap ‘Yes, it’s Blinking Purple’.
Note: If you can’t see the purple light on your Linksys Velop node, tap NO and follow on-screen prompts to get the issue fixed. - Your node will now be detected. Proceed further by tapping Next.
- Thereafter, the parent node of your Linksys Velop Mesh WiFi System will start checking for the internet connection.
- As soon as you find that the on-screen setup has been established, check the boxes given on your screen and hit Next.
- If you are using a static IP address, then you need to manually enter the settings (DNS 1, IP Address, Default Gateway, and Subnet Mask) given by your Internet Service Provider and tap Next.
- Moving on, type in your username and password.
- Your Linksys Velop node will look for the internet connection.
- Once done, you need to enter your email ID and password in the fields given.
- Complete the Velop node setup process by tapping Create Account.
Note: If you have already created a Linksys account, directly log in to it by entering your account details. - The setup will then link your Linksys server account to the node.
- To protect your WiFi from potential threats, create a hard-to-crack name and password for your Linksys Velop Mesh WiFi system.
- Let your Linksys Velop node get configured. So, be patient.
- Now, name your Linksys Velop Node and tap Next.
Quick Tip: It is suggested that you assign a name that best explains the location of your Linksys Velop node.
- The moment you reach the Success screen, hit Next.
Congratulations! You have successfully configured the parent node of your Linksys Velop Mesh WiFi system.
If you want to add more nodes, then select the Add ‘Another Node’ option on your screen. If the parent node alone can satisfy your entire internet needs, then select ‘That’s it for Now’.
Note That: You can anytime add additional nodes to your WiFi network by doing Linksys Velop login.
